A Message from our CEO

Public spaces are at the heart of building vibrant and sustainable communities. These spaces not only contribute to our health, but also enhance urban sustainability and build community. We are a not-for-profit that offers a wide array of programs across the country; and we also run Evergreen Brick Works, a world-renowned demonstration hub nestled in the heart of Canada’s largest city.

We hope to influence how we build cities and play a leadership role in civic innovation in Canada. This work has never been more urgent, and it has never had greater momentum. I am thrilled to work with a very talented team, partners and communities to continue to re-imagine our public spaces across Canada for their possibility to bring us together, shape the way we live and support our communities to thrive. 

Evergreen is making the case for place. We believe that cities can be powerful levers for change, and that public spaces within our cities can work harder for both people and our planet. But placemaking and placekeeping can’t be done alone. Through our unique community-centred approach, which connects people, natural and built worlds, we're committed to fostering connections through our array of programs across the country, on-site at Evergreen Brick Works and right here on our website.
