Evergreen Brick Works is an abandoned brick factory turned community hub. It’s a place where the world can experience sustainable practices that enable flourishing cities of the future.

Evergreen Brick Works connects citizens, business, academia and government to turn what-if’s into how to’s that will shape our cities for the better. For real.

All the activities you take part in; weekly Farmers Market, outdoor Children Garden, exhibitions, ravine walks and bike rides, conferences, talks and green design features are how we showcase and inspire innovative ideas. Evergreen Brick Works enables visitors to take solutions back to their home, business, community and cities across Canada.

Yes, dogs are allowed on-leash in outdoor areas. Dogs are not permitted inside buildings or in the food court area of the markets. Please refer to our dog policy for more information.

Some other means of transportation include the free shuttle from Broadview Station, the TTC bus from Davisville Station, biking along the Bayview multi-use path, or walking through the Don River Valley Park trails.

The shuttle bus is free and travels from Broadview Station to Evergreen Brick Works approximately every half hour. It has a lift for wheelchairs and stroller accessibility. It also has a bike rack for riders to use.

You can visit our online What’s On event calendar, pick up a What’s On handout or check out our message boards and screens on-site. 

For 30 minutes it costs $2.25, for 1 hour it costs $4, for 2 hours it costs $6, or for a full day it costs $8.

As parking on-site is limited and fills up quickly on peak days, we recommend considering other methods of getting here.

Evergreen Brick Works’ mix of industrial and natural features provides an amazing backdrop for your engagement, wedding or family photo shoots. For any photo shoots, except casual tourist shots or day-out-with-the-family photos, we require a permit.

Evergreen Brick Works is nestled in the heart of the Don River Valley Park, which provides many varieties of walking, hiking, and biking trails from Pottery Road to Corktown Commons.

Yes, we keep any items lost here at the Welcome Desk inside the Young Welcome Centre. If you lost something during your visit, please contact info@evergreen.ca or call 416-596-7670.

Electric Car Charging Stations: You can now charge your electric vehicle at Evergreen Brick Works. Three new charging stations have been installed for you to choose from. With these new charging stations, you can enjoy the Brick Works and its surrounding region while your vehicle is charging. Click here for more info.

Barbecues and fires are not permitted, but you can absolutely have a picnic!

We have many picnic tables scattered around the site, some under cover and others out in the open. These tables fill on a first-come, first-served basis. Make sure you properly dispose of all picnic waste before leaving. Please note that the parkland behind Evergreen Brick Works is not appropriate for spreading out picnic blankets – all grassy areas are earmarked for wildlife, human visitors should stay on the pathways to minimize ecological damage.

Looking to use one of our spaces for your own party? All birthdays and/or parties must be booked through our Events team. For more information please contact events@evergreen.ca

Program areas such as the Children's Garden or the Pavilions are reserved for Evergreen's use, and indoor birthday parties are prohibited in the Young Welcome Centre and Building 14 (Marketplace). If you wish to book an indoor space, we encourage visitors to formally book Birthday Parties by contacting our Events department to book a room. Note that Evergreen does not provide programming or activities for children’s parties.

We ask that all site users respect the following guidelines:

• Users are responsible for the proper management of their own garbage and other waste materials.
• We adhere to a “Pack In, Pack Out” policy: whatever you bring with you to the site, you are expected to take with you when you leave.
• If you wish to use the Children’s Garden during their weekend open hours, note that parents must accompany children into the play area.
• Visits to the site should take place during regular operating hours: Monday–Friday 9am–5pm, Saturday 8am–5pm, Sunday and Holidays 10am–5pm.
• Respect other users of the site, including Evergreen programming and special events.
• Please make contingency plans in case of rain. There is no extra indoor space available, and the area is susceptible to flooding. All visitors will be asked to evacuate the site immediately in the event of a flood situation.
• Please do not bring balloons. They tend to remain on site, and become an environmental hazard.
• Evergreen Brick Works is a public site on land managed by the City of Toronto, and is subject to city bylaws. Alcohol is not permitted in non-licensed or outdoor areas.

Sure! There are great picturesque spots around Evergreen Brick Works for a proposal. Please note that if you wish to include a photographer or videographer to document your proposal, you will need to book a photo permit. We do not allow fireworks or other pyrotechnics, and please don’t bring balloons to the site, as we have sensitive wetland ecosystems in the area. Evergreen Brick Works is a public site on land managed by the City of Toronto, and is subject to city bylaws. Alcohol is not permitted in non-licensed or outdoor areas.
