Whether you’re planning on attending a public market, exploring the surrounding trails and gardens, or taking part in one of our children’s programs, you can start your visit to Evergreen Brick Works online by exploring our site map.

Evergreen acknowledges that the Brick Works site is built on occupied Indigenous territory – the traditional homelands of the Wendat (Wendat) and Petun (Pah-toon) First Nations, the Haudenosaunee (Ho-den-O-Show-nee), and the Mississaugas of the Credit River – today home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island.

Children's Garden

Always evolving, the Children's Garden is designed to activate the imaginations of children, inviting them to engage in open-ended play. Here, children have the freedom to be architects of their environment, to invent and build using creativity and problem-solving skills, all while developing an appreciation for the natural world.

Activities in the Children's Garden respond to the changing seasons and weather and are based on the natural materials we have available. Most importantly, our activities are a great way to be active and connect with community, family and the environment that sustains us all.

Every weekend you can join us for Nature Play in the Children's Garden, open to parents and kids alike!

Please note the Children's Garden is only available to the public on weekends. It is closed during the week for pre-registered programming.

The Kilns

Go back in time and discover the rich industrial heritage of the site. The dramatic kiln building was formerly where the factory's bricks were fired. Now, the 52,000-square-foot building still houses the brick firing kilns and is use for events and exhibitions year-round, as the TD Future Cities Centre.

The Centre is a national hub for Future Cities Canada, an initiative that brings together people, platforms and innovations from across sectors to find new ways to address the challenges facing cities. Evergreen is committed to catalyzing change, and the TD Future Cities Centre is where urban thought leaders and city builders can gather, co-create, test and prototype solutions for building inclusive low-carbon cities of the future.

Skating Rink

The Evergreen Brick Works outdoor skating rink weaves through snow-covered gardens under exposed beams from the roof of the old brick factory.

There's truly no other skating rink like it in the city, especially since it features an ECO CHILL® refrigeration system for sustainable cooling.

The skating rink is only open during the winter season. It is open to the public from December to March, weather permitting. Please be advised that as this is an outdoor rink, the condition of the rink and its availability is weather-dependent.

The Pavilions

A unique outdoor, roofed space that frames our community gatherings and festivals. A central location on the Evergreen Brick Works campus, the Pavilions is home to weekend programs including our outdoor Saturday Farmers Market and Sunday Artisan Market.

Weston Family Quarry Garden & Don Valley Brick Works Park

Managed by Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation, the Don Valley Brick Works Park is free and open to everyone. A clay and shale quarry for one hundred years, the 16.5-hectare (40-acre) area that surrounds Evergreen Brick Works has been transformed into a thriving green space, with ponds and nature trails to explore and wander.

Next time you visit be sure to walk the trails, spot the wildlife, and head up to the lookout for an uninterrupted view of the Toronto skyline.
